Child sexual abuse is committed in several different ways with different aggressivity. But for the ambiguity of abusive actions most incidences go without being reported, and if brought to notice the perpetrators usually escape punishment for want of evidence.

And internet makes it alarmingly easy to access victim’s personal information; daily schedule, unsatisfied desires, weaknesses and interests. The information gathered is then used to win child’s confidence and establish emotional connection.

Amazingly large number of children as young 7-8 years old also have free access to internet and thereby to social media sites. And receiving sexual solicitations through social media sites is Not uncommon.

1 in 4 chat online about sexual things.
1 in 5 receive sexual solicitations online.
2 out of 5 online solicitors are below 18 years of age.
1 in 10 are asked to describe intimate parts of their body.

1 in 10 are exposed to nude pictures of someone else.
3 in 20 agree to meet online solicitor in-person.
6 in 10 know their perpetrator in person.
1 in 5 cases the cyber perpetrator was found to be a classmate.
1 in 15 are coaxed into posting their nude pictures on the internet.
1 in 5 of all internet pornography involves children.
Every minute about 5 new sexually explicit pictures of children are posted on internet pornography sites..
